Madhavi Krishnan did her undergraduate work at Anna University in Madras, India. She received a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2004, following which she she received Alexander von Humboldt and Marie Curie fellowships for postodoctoral work at the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany and the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry, ETH Zurich. After a short stint as a visiting scholar at Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences she was appointed Assistant Professor in Physical Chemistry at the University of Zurich. She was awarded the 2016 Nernst-Haber-Bodenstein Prize by the Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry. In 2018 the group moved to Oxford where Madhavi is Associate Professor in Physical & Theoretical Chemistry and Fellow in Physical Chemistry at Merton College.
